There have been umpteen numbers of makes from the house of Swiss watch manufacturer Ulysse Nardin: The Black Sea watch, the Stranger, which is known to be the world’s first musical wristwatch, the Freak Limited Edition, that mesmerized us and took away our hearts. The most recent entrant that has been unveiled at BaselWorld 2013, under the Ulysse Nardin label, is the Skeleton Tourbillon, the first of its kind in the Ulysse catalogue with a skeleton caliber fully developed and manufactured in-house.
Being one of its kinds, the watch would be produced as a limited edition, a total of 198 pieces, of which 99 would be in 18kt Rose Gold and the remaining in Platinum. As per its make, the case, measuring 44mm would be either in rose gold or platinum, with an AR-coated sapphire crystal and a sapphire display back. The watch has a naked dial, with direct peek into the complexities of the watch – spiked wheels and other mechanisms. The watch sports an in-house caliber UN170 with 23 jewels, 18,000vph and a power reserve of 170 hours. A feature packed wrist watch, the Skeleton Tourbillon also flaunts an engraved wheel with its brand name, insignia and power reserve. The watch is also water resistant up to 30 meters.
